Tour details
Day 1 - Santo Domingo ⇒ Barahona
Meeting point at your hotel in Santo Domingo (Zona Colonial) and departure to the deep south. The coastal road to the mountains leads through a dry and rocky area full of cacti and agaves.
After a short drive, you arrive in the provincial capital of Barahona, which lies on the Bay of Neiba. After crossing the city, take the coastal road south, with lush mountain landscapes with a tropical climate and valleys with lush vegetation consisting mainly of fruit, forest and timber trees. You will have a spectacular panoramic view over the coast and the Caribbean Sea.
You will follow the road to your hotel in Quemaito, which is located directly on the coast and where you will be welcomed with natural, fresh juices and a typical lunch. Later, you will visit the Larimar workshop, where you will not only receive all the information about the processing of the Larimar stone, but everyone will also have the opportunity to work a stone themselves, which you can take home as a souvenir.
Meals included: typical lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Hotel Quemaito *** (or similar), Juan Esteban
DAY 2 - Paraíso ⇒ Bahía de las Águilas (90 km) ⇒ Santo Domingo (310 km)
Discover the Jaragua National Park with its 8 km long beach in the Bahia de las Aguilas. The bay is part of the national park and is considered by many Dominicans to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
The climate is very dry and the vegetation consists mainly of cacti and other desert plants. The sea is calm and a wonderful sea breeze will help you not to suffer too much from the sun and heat. Feel like “Robinson Crusoe” in this completely ecological, natural and unspoiled place.
Meals included: Breakfast and a typical lunch
