Santo Domingo’s unique natural treasures
Within the city of Santo Domingo, not far from the colonial city, you will encounter the National Park and the cave system "Los Tres Ojos" (the three eyes) with underground river courses and stalactite caves. Descend into the caves and enjoy views of the partially open stalactite caves and overgrown coral. Walk through this unusual green environment and marvel at the three eyes. The fourth eye can only be reached by a small boat that will take you into the cenote via an underground river. Enjoy the beautiful view of a hidden lake with lush vegetation.
Afterwards, visit the botanical garden. Covering an area of 20 hectares, you will find a large collection of palm trees, as well as many endemic and exotic plants, including a large selection of orchids with a variety of species from all over the island. The Japanese Zen Garden is one of the highlights of the botanical garden.
