Bayahibe is known for its sandy beaches and diving sites. The palm-lined beach right in the center of town is also a boat landing point to the surrounding island. Playa Dominicus is a long sandy beach with coral reef. To the east, the mainland section of Parque Nacional del Este is dotted with caves, some of which contain ancient rock art. Saona Island, in the National Park, has beaches and reefs with diverse fauna and flora. Catalina Island is also served by excursion boats from Bayahibe.
